2/7/2013: Eli Tabib officially becomes the owner of Beitar

 Israeli Football:
Eli Tabib officially became the new owner of Beitar Jerusalem today after the football association's ownership rights movement council authenticated his possession of the club.
Tabib will receive 75% of the team's shares and the fans organization will receive the other 25%. He will have to pay for the club's 12.5 million shekel debt before he can start to profit from the club's income.
Beitar Jerusalem goalkeeper Ariel Harush turned up for today's training session despite being harassed by Beitar fans on Tuesday when they threw rocks at him and spat on him during the teams season opening training session. "I didn't sleep well last night" Harush said about Tuesday's events, "but i hope that everything will be fine in the end".
In other news Beitar Jerusalem have managed to sign midfielder David Ravivo. Ravivo who played for Ashdod last year is the first player that Beitar have bought this summer.
Bnei Sakhnin had their first pre-season training session today. 800 fans turned up to watch their team train.
Bnei Yehuda had their opening pre-season training session today also.
Ironi Nir Ramat HaSharon signed Ethiopian defensive midfielder Asrat Megersaf from Ethiopian Premier League side, EEPCO. 25 year old Megersag who has 13 caps for the Ethiopian national team signed in a 3 year deal at Ramat HaSharon.

Israeli Tennis:
Andy Ram who was Israel's last hope in Wimbledon 2013, was beaten in the Mixed Doubles second round in straight sets  (7-5, 7-5) alongside his partner Abigail Spears of the USA by the Pole Marcin Matkowski and Kveta Peschke of Czech Republic.

Israeli Basketball:
Bnei Herzliya have signed Efi Bernbaum as their new coach on a 2 year deal.
