Israeli Point Guard
Gal Mekel started his NBA career with fire as he scored 14 points made 4 assists and took 4 rebounds in his first game for the Dallas Mavericks against the Sacramento Kings in the NBA summer Leagues. Mekel played 30 minutes as the Mavs won the game 76-73. " I was very emotional in the opening minutes, it took me 3 or 4 minutes to find my pace", Mekel said after the game, " After i warmed up, i forgot about everything around me, and i was simply had a great time". Rick Carlisle also had some words to share about Mekel's game: " Gal is an experienced player in Europe and he used that to his advantage this evening. I liked the way he took charge on the court".

Maccabi Ashdod have added yet another player to their roster today when they agreed a deal with Israeli center Lior Lipshitz. 28-year-old Lipshitz who is 178cm will have played for the 10th team oh his career when he pulls on a Maccabi Ashdod vest for the first time.
