Football:
Guy Luzon (uefa)
Israeli manager Guy Luzon got off to a great start as manager of Standard Liege beating       KV Mechelen 2-0 away in the Belgian Pro League in his first competitive game at the club. " We showed the spirit and the brilliance of Standard Liege", Luzon said after the win," the fans were really great". Tal Ben Haim and Dudu Biton who are both signed on to the Liege roster, did not appear in the Liege lineup last night. Their next match will be against Lierse who lost their first match of the season 2-1 to Zulte-Waregem.

Toto Tamuz (supersport)
Israeli striker Toto Tamuz has signed for Russian Premier League side Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast. By signing for Ural Tamuz becomes the second player currently playing in the Russian top flight with the other being Bibras Natkho who currently plays for Rubin Kazan. Tamuz played the last 3 seasons at Hapoel Tel Aviv where he managed to score in over 50 percent of his matches having played 85 matches ans scoring 44 goals and it seems that off the pitch problems were what drove him out of the Tel Aviv club.

Israeli midfielder Avi Rekan played 90 minutes in his club FC Zurich's 3-2 loss to Luzern in the Swiss Super League yesterday. Rekan has played every minute of all 3 games that Zurich have played this season.

Israel national team midfielder Bibras Natkho played 90 minutes in Rubin Kazan's 0-0 draw with Terek Grozny last night.
